Trafalgar Square Tree - 3 December The annual lighting of the Christmas tree takes place on Thursday, 3 December in the early evening. The lighting of the tree, a traditional gift from the people of Norway, will be proceeded by the blessing of the crib. The Tree will also provide the backdrop to a free daily programme of carol singing between 7-20 December from 17.00-21.00 each evening.
