First presented on television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella was the most widely viewed program in the history of the medium. It then found a new lease of life when it was remade for the stage and played to great success on Broadway. Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella is an enchanting version of the classic tale played with great warmth and a touch of merriment.
Rodgers and Hammerstein created a string of popular Broadway musicals in the 1950‘s during what is considered a golden age of musical theatre with hits such as South Pacific, Oklahoma!, Carousel, The King and I and The Sound of Music.
Directed by Alex Young who directed the Tabard Theatre’s summer smash Ruddigore and designed by Chris Hone (Ruddigore, Just So, Stiffed), this Cinderella musical will enchant and delight the whole family.
